What You Require to Sign Up

  1. Recent colored passport size photo.
  2. Copy of a valid passport (photo and signature page)
  3. Proof of residence (visa, residence permit etc.)
  4. Proof of address document (max 3 months old)
  5. Copy of a RIB certificate 
  6. Filled in account opening forms (KYC, subscription form, email indemnity)
  7. FATCA W-9 and confidentiality waiver forms for US clients
  • Sign up Process

    1. Access to the diaspora portal via this link https://www.equitybcdc-diasporabanking.com/equity-bank-ui
    2. Click the “REGISTER’” button and   fill out the form then validate. You will receive a credential validation email.
    3. Click on the link received via email to validate your credential for portal access.
    4. Finalize your registration and then click the “OK” button
    5. At this stage, you can either print or download the account opening forms for later submission to Diaspora Team via email (diaspora@equitybcdc.cd) or you can proceed to opening directly online.
    6. If you want to open online, select “open an account” in the portal and start filling the forms and attached necessary documents. You can also save partially filled form for later.
    7. Once all forms are filled and all necessary documents attached, click submit
    8. Ensure to also send the original (hard copy) email indemnity form via post to the address below:

  • Complaints Handling Process

    • Lodge complaint at any of our branches, via diaspora@equitybcdc.cd. We will record your feedback and issue you with a reference number.
    • We will acknowledge your feedback within 48hours.
    • If we cannot resolve the complaint immediately, we will advise on the next cause of action and when to expect feedback from us.
    • We will endeavour to resolve the complaint within 7 working days. However, should we require more time to it, we will keep you updated with progress every 7 days until the complaint is resolved.
    • Should the resolution not meet your satisfaction, feel free to get back to us with your concerns and we will review the issue and resolution and revert back to you.
  • Potential Risks

    • To safeguard funds in your account, do not share you PINs with anyone. 
    • When making payments using your card, be sure the card stays in your sight.  If you lose your card, communicate to the bank to block it.
    • If you suspect any of your PINs is known by others, please change it immediately.
