  • In 2021, EquityBCDC has grown its balance sheet by 47% from USD 2.6 billion to USD 3.7 billion.
  • Pre-tax profitability in 2021 was CDF 99.1 billion (USD 49.6 million), up from CDF 15 billion (USD 7.6 million)
  • After-tax profitability in 2021 is CDF 80.3 billion (USD 40.2 million) compared to CDF 8.6 billion (USD 4.4 million) in 2020
  • The contribution to the public treasury is CDF 18.8 billion (USD 9.4 million) against CDF 6.4 billion (USD 3.2 million)
  • The customer portfolio has grown from 891,085 to more than 1,300,000 accounts
  • The current focus is on improving the quality of service and equipping customers with convenient services to empower them through innovative, unique and powerful digital solutions. Both international and domestic instant cards are now available.
  • The bank has deployed a dense distribution network of more than 7000 EquityBCDC Expresses in order to relieve branch congestion.

Kinshasa, 18 May 2022...... EquityBCDC has seen its profitability and turnover increase significantly by the end of the 2021 financial year.  After the merger, the bank saw a 47% growth in the balance sheet from 4,978 billion Congolese francs to 7,309 billion Congolese francs. This performance is a result of the confidence of customers in the bank, whose portfolio has reached 1,300,000 accounts.

The current focus after the merger phase is the impact on the quality of services and the empowerment of the client. EquityBCDC will focus on improving the customer experience. To this end, several solutions are proposed to date to relieve branch congestion, speed up operations and empower customers through unique digital solutions, namely:

  • The effective availability of instant cards: 300,000 international cards and 1 million local cards are available in our branches to facilitate transactions outside branches;
  • The development of a wealth creation and revenue sharing business model by deploying banking agents throughout the country to facilitate banking transactions : the objective is to reach 22,000 banking agents commonly known as EquityBCDC Express, the traders on our street corners ;
  • Free of charge on CFD transactions for civil servants using our banking agents, EquityBCDC Express : civil servants no longer need to queue up at branches. They save time and there are no more fees when withdrawing money from a bank agent than at a traditional branch
  • Payment via their phone without a card thanks to Equity Pay: a very practical digital solution that transforms both small and large merchants into bank merchants and makes it easier for customers to pay their bills via their electronic wallet
  • The acquisition of more than 100 ATMs.

ABOUT THE BANK
